Preparing for your appointment
Before your virtual repair appointment, please complete the following steps so we can diagnose and resolve the issue quickly and safely.
Confirm appointment details
Verify appointment date and start time.
Confirm the video platform and the link or meeting ID you’ll use.
Charge and test devices
Use a smartphone or tablet for video; plug it in or ensure at least 50% battery.
Test your camera, microphone, and speakers ahead of time by making a quick video call with a friend or using a test call feature.
Clear the work area
Remove clutter and obstacles around the appliance or HVAC equipment to ensure safe movement and a clear view.
Keep pets and children away from the work area during the appointment.
Gather paperwork and information
Have appliance make, model number, and serial number available. These are usually on a label inside the door, on the back, or near the control panel.
Note the age of the unit and any recent service history or parts replacements.
Be ready to describe the problem, when it started, any noises/smells, error codes, and what you’ve already tried.
Ensure safe access and utilities
Make sure the unit is accessible (remove items from atop or around it).
Know how to turn off power (circuit breaker) and gas or water supply to the unit if needed. We may instruct you to power off during troubleshooting.
If dealing with the HVAC system, ensure thermostat is set to the correct mode (heat/cool) and has fresh batteries (if applicable).
Prepare basic tools and supplies
Have a flashlight, screwdriver (flat and Phillips head), adjustable wrench or pliers nearby.
If the unit uses water (e.g., dishwasher, washer, fridge), have a bucket or towels ready to catch water if we ask you to disconnect hoses or drains.
A multimeter or clamp meter can help in diagnosing some issues.
During the appointment
Answer the technician’s questions clearly and follow step-by-step instructions.
Show any damage, leaks, error codes, and the appliance’s serial/model labels on camera when requested.
We look forward to helping you get your appliance or HVAC system back to peak performance.
